As Communications Intern at literary nonprofit PEN America, I helped support the Daily Alerts on Rights & Expression (DARE) newsletter by researching and summarizing global headlines related to freedom of speech and social justice.
I worked with my supervisor and fellow marketing/communication intern to narrow the list of global headlines and refine the summary copy.
When relevant, I would weave in PEN America resources such as research reports and press releases. The DARE newsletter was mass distributed to thousands of email subscribers daily.
