Artsy Museum App/Website, Google UX Design Certificate

This project, an integral component of the Google UX Design Certificate program, involved creating a mobile app and responsive website for Artsy Museum to advertise exhibitions and events, provide museum information to patrons, and enable patrons to schedule visits.

I designed for users of all ages who engage with the arts in some capacity. The goal was to create an app/website that is easy to use, informative, aligns with Artsy’s brand, and allows users to achieve their desired outcome—which for the purpose of this project included learning about exhibitions and events, and purchasing tickets.

I worked through every step in the design process from user research to wireframes to low-fidelity mockups to high-fidelity prototypes. I carried out usability tests with several different research participants, incorporating their feedback into the high-fidelity prototype. I received positive feedback from other UX Design certificate students.

Through this experience, I learned how thorough the design process is. I also confronted my own biases and pushed myself to accept that what I deem to be the best design doesn't always best serve users. Every decision should be backed by user research.
